Together, Kathryn Cloward (acoustic guitar/vocals), Brandon Cerquedo (lead guitar), David Stone (bass), Megan Nguyen (keys/vocals), and Mike Reedy (drums) enjoy performing in intimate settings as well as large stage shows at public venues. The band has headlined multiple times at the acclaimed Belly Up (Solana Beach, CA); opened for 80’s icon Tiffany at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go (West Hollywood, CA); performed at the legendary Troubadour (West Hollywood, CA) and Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood, debuted in Arizona at the Mesa Music Festival (Mesa, AZ); opened for Nashville Unplugged (Las Vegas, NV); and rock out at their hometown San Diego County Fair every summer. Kathryn Cloward Band originally formed to support Kathryn’s four solo albums following her 2015 double CD release of “Free to Fly” and “A Soft Place to Fall,” and her second double CD release in 2017 of “Ripple Love” and “Secret Keeper.” Kathryn’s prolific songwriting reveals a full spectrum of life experiences that’s relatable to many people from all walks of life. Her song, “I Will Be Going,” earned the Best Americana Song of the Year at the 2017 IMC Awards and she was recognized as Best Americana Artist by IMC’s 2016 Radio Music Awards.
Kathryn Cloward Band helps select charitable causes raise awareness by writing and producing impactful songs with meaningful messages. “Heroes” helps children and adults with MPS and related rare diseases, and supports the National MPS Society. The song debuted at the International MPS Symposium in 2018. “We Are Champions” supports children fighting cancer and their families, and debuted at Rady Children’s Hospital’s 2017 Celebration of Champions event. The band’s 2018 “Ripple Love” single was released in support of suicide prevention — a cause very personal to Kathryn after loosing a dear friend and musical collaborator to suicide. The purpose for #RippleLove is to spread a message of hope and love to anyone battling depression in silence and let them know they are not alone. As the lyrics of the song share, “We’re all in this together.”
